Masks

In order to fit a wide variety of face shapes and sizes, we offer three sizes in the Pro Series and five sizes in the Ultra Series. Please refer to our size chart and measure your face as directed before ordering to determine your size. Design availability may vary depending on size.
Step 1:
Grab a soft tape measure, or use a string and line against a rules.
Step 2:
Measure the vertical distance between your nose bridge and the tip of your chin.

Based on your measurement, select your size.
For unpleasant odors, we advise washing as directed, then spraying both sides of the mask with 70% isopropyl alcohol and letting it dry in sunlight. To remove stains, we recommend lightly scrubbing with a soft toothbrush and gentle detergent.
Our nanofiber membrane filter has undergone a Repeated Wash Test, showing that it maintains 95% filtration efficacy after 50 washes.
The materials in all 5 layers of our masks are carefully selected and tested for protection, safety, and comfort. The outer fabric layers are made of lightweight polyester, the two non-woven support layers are made of Polyethylene and Polypropylene, and the inner nanofiber membrane is made of PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene). Our masks are never treated with harmful substances or chemicals such as flame retardants, water repellents, or antimicrobial agents.
If you lose a rubber ear adjuster on your Happy Mask and need a replacement, please reach out to our Customer Experience team, and we’ll be happy to send you a pack. You’ll just pay for shipping.
Happy Masks are meant to be worn for about 250 hours, which is about 2 months of regular use, or 50 washes.
N95 masks are made for medical settings and tested by NIOSH, which means they are one-time use, require a fit-test, and provide an extremely tight seal. Happy Masks are designed for non-medical settings, and are washable and reusable with a tested filter. While Happy Masks do not provide as tight of a side-seal as an N95, they provide more than adequate protection in everyday situations, assuming a correct fit.
Hats
We offer a medium and large size for our youth sun hats, and a S/M and L/XL size for our adult hats. Please check the size chart below to determine your correct size.
We recommend hand washing our hats in cold water and line drying. Do not bleach, iron, or dry clean.
The main body fabric of the Happy Hat is 100% nylon, and the self-adherent panels consist of 55% nylon and 45% polyester. The side mesh panels are 100% polyester.
We never use chemicals or coatings to boost the protection of our products. The UPF 50+ protection of our hats comes from the tight weave of the nylon main body fabric, as well as the 3-inch brim.
UPF stands for Ultraviolet Protection Factor, and refers to the percentage of UVA and UVB rays that are blocked. Our main body fabric is UPF 50+, which means it blocks 98% of UVA and UVB rays.
A breakaway chin strap is a safety measure, designed to easily break away if there is tension, so it doesn’t pose a strangulation risk.

Patchumz™
Patchumz feature a thin, flexible, self-adherent backing that allows them to securely stick to the front and side panels of our hats.
Patchumz are infinitely reusable!
If your Patchumz get dirty, we recommend gently washing them with running water and soap, and then allowing to air dry. You can also put them through a washing machine, but please use a mesh bag to prevent them from getting lost or sticking to other clothing items.
We regularly launch new Patchumz designs, and discontinue old designs to make room for them. If you love a specific design, we recommend not waiting, as it may not be around for long!
Ordering & Shipping
Orders with standard shipping are typically processed and shipped within 1 to 3 business days of the order date. Orders with expedited shipping need one business day for fulfillment, and typically ship the next business day. You will receive a shipment confirmation email with tracking information when your order ships.
How quickly your order arrives depends on the shipping option that you choose. Please see our Shipping Policy page for more information. We offer three options for expedited shipping: USPS Priority, UPS 2-day, and UPS Overnight. Please note that the estimated time frame does not include fulfillment, which takes one business day for expedited orders. The timeframe for orders placed with UPS Overnight or 2-Day shipping options applies to business days only, and does not include weekends.
As long as your order is over $60 and shipped within the contiguous United States, you'll automatically get free standard shipping.

Sometimes carriers put the packages in strange places, or mark it delivered prematurely. Most of the time it shows up in the next day or two. If you do not find it within 1-2 days, please check with your neighbors to see if they may have received your package by mistake. If you still are unable to locate it, please email us at
Occasionally, we’ll make too many of a certain product or design, and will offer a discount on those items. You can find all our current discounted styles and sizes on the Sale page. We also offer 10% off for first-time customers who subscribe to our email list, and for customers who take the time to leave photo reviews on our website. Please be aware that any discount code you find on a third-party discount site is not provided by us and is not valid.

Returns & Exchanges
Happy Masks
- For hygienic purposes, masks can not be returned once the packaging has been opened. If our returns team determines that a returned mask has been opened, we will discard it without issuing a credit.
- To initiate a return of an unopened mask, please email our Customer Experience team at hello@happygear.com.
Happy Hats
- We accept returns on unworn, unwashed hats with the tags attached and in original packaging within 30 days of delivery for a full refund in the form of store credit. Return shipping is the customer’s responsibility.
- We are unable to accept returns or issue credits after 30 days.
- To initiate a return, please email our Customer Experience team at hello@happygear.com.
- Our returns team will inspect your return. If they determine that a returned item has been worn or is not in new condition, we will send you an invoice for the shipping cost to have it sent back to you, or we will discard it without issuing a credit.
Patchumz, Lanyards, and Pouches
- These items are final sale, but if you receive an item with a manufacturing defect, please contact our Customer Experience team at hello@happygear.com within 7 days of delivery. Please include a photo of the defect in your email, and we will be happy to resolve the issue.
Happiness Guarantee
Our Happiness Guarantee covers manufacturing defects that occur within two months of purchase, as well as fulfillment errors and shipping issues.
If your item arrives with a defect, please email our Customer Experience team with a photo and description of the issue to submit a Happiness Guarantee claim. Our team will provide you with next steps.
Claims take about 4-5 business days to process, and we will reach out to you by email with our decision. If your claim is approved, you will be provided with a Happy Gear credit in the amount of the original item (not including taxes or shipping fees) to purchase a replacement item of your choice.
Please note that approval is not guaranteed and is subject to the discretion of the Happy Gear quality assurance team. We review claims on a case-by-case basis. Happy Gear reserves the right to deny and/or limit claims.
Though we design our products with durability in mind, they can experience a certain amount of wear and tear over time. Our Happiness Guarantee does not cover normal wear and tear, the natural breakdown of materials due to time or use, or issues resulting from improper care or misuse, including but not limited to pilling or fraying, issues caused by incorrect washing/care, staining, accumulated odors, or mildew caused by humid conditions.
